Benefits of Pole Walking

Improved posture

 

Increased balance and stability

 

Reduced stress on back, hip and knee joints

 

Exercise upper body and lower body at the same time

 

Increase cardiovascular endurance

 

Reminders:

 

Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated during the walk

 

Wear a hat

 

Wear Sunscreen

 

Wear loose comfortable clothing and supportive footwear

 

Please inform staff at anytime if you are not feeling well

 

Bring a snack

 

Eat a well balanced breakfast before coming out for the walk

 

 

 

NOTE: Walks may be canceled due to heat advisory or severe weather

 

Poles and instruction are provided

 

Poles are to be returned after each walk to a staff member
